KNZRT recruits three new trustees in New Zealand
We are pleased to introduce three new trustees:

Anara Sartmanbetova has extensive skills in team building, project and village development, community engagement, monitoring and assessment. She has experience working across Central and South-East Asia and Europe, but in particular Kyrgyzstan, developing training modules, project monitoring and evaluation, case study design and co-design of technology. Recently, Anara has worked in Bishkek as an Agricultural Land Improvement Specialist, Financial Manager and Monitoring Expert. The Kyrgyzstan New Zealand Rural Trust are excited to have Anara on board as our newest trustee.

Jean Williams has 21 years experience in the impact assessment (social, environmental vulnerable groups, and gender) and community development. She has worked for numerous development agencies throughout Central Asia, Eastern Europe, South-East Asia and Pacific, mostly on infrastructure and rural development projects. Jean has worked in Kyrgyzstan on a number of occasions in the transport and power sectors, providing impact assessments and working with community groups to establish their needs for various road improvement and electricity projects. Jean will bring her experience to a number of aspects of KNZRT work, especially in monitoring to ensure that objectives are being met, that beneficiaries, and particularly women, are satisfied with the quality and relevance of project implementation and ensuring that benefits are reaching their intended targets.

Mike Ryan has recently retired from the Asian Development Bank after 29 years experience in the development finance sector. During this time he worked in 21 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, addressing a range of development issues, including the design and operation of micro-credit facilities for poor people. As well as a great knowledge of micro-finance, Mike has a broad understanding of rural development in very poor countries. Mike’s professionalism and expertise will be of enormous benefit to KNZRT as we continue to roll out the recently introduced micro-finance loan facility at Aiyl Bank.
