Are we having any impact?

In short, yes. Most income group members are adding about NZ$8-10 per month to the household budget – a lot of money in the Naryn context. Groups are saving on a regular basis, and building group savings funds of around NZ$300 which are being used for further growth or for emergency funds. Groups are planning expansion – either new products or more existing outputs. Generally groups are working well together. The needs are improved business planning, marketing planning, financial management, rehabilitation of damaged irrigation schemes. Generally, the Rural Advisory Service has provided good support and with further refinement, things will continue to improve for our beneficiaries.

The Trustees pledge that “your support to the KNZRT will go directly to the people who need it”.

How far will your money go to assist?

  • Most of the assistance is directed at women so that the heart of the family, especially children, will benefit
  • The Trust endeavors to improve communities, not just individuals, by providing a mix of income generating, employment and asset improving sub-projects
  • Many of the sub-projects have a multiplier effect within the community. Recipients hand on the materials received (e.g. breeding goats or seed potatoes) to another needy family
  • None of your money is provided as cash, which can be siphoned, but in the form of materials and services to help poor families improve their lives
